Are you tired of being confined to one uncomfortable position? Intermingle allows you to create a resting spot that suits your unique needs!

The Intermingles are a manifestation of how people exist in their own unique ways. The floor pillow product invites users to have a new relationship with difference and the way things change. Intermingles are for those who are cultivating an environment to provide stimulation, wonder, and sensuality.

Through rapidly sketching a wide range of ideas, the project became large and plush floor pieces with limbs and holes interacting with the user and surrounding furniture. The result is an exciting, ever-changing addition to any room.

The idea started with the question ‘can pillows have a threesome’ and developed into more complex idea about bodies and how they interact. The mingle’s became an abstraction of identity and seek to represent individual expression through their uniqueness.

Concept Development

So What is it?

The intermingle is a piece of funiture that explores the potential for people to sit uniquely. The Intermingles serve as both a functional piece of comfort as well as a sculpture addition of color to any space.

The process of arrival at the final furniture was plenty of sewing and iterations of form. These led to studies of how these forms can interact with each other. The drawings and physical prototypes pointed towards more elongated forms that have the ability to wrap around the user and other pieces of furniture nearby.

The misfit furniture boldly explores the potential for futurism in home goods, sparking meaningful conversations about different variations in living spaces for the years to come.
